Puppies- $140 + $35 NYS Spay/Neuter Deposit & $5 Lic. Fee
All Puppies adopted from the shelter MUST be spayed or neutered when they reach 6 months of age. It is your responsibility to get the dog fixed at this age whether it be through your own vet or through our SOS clinic. There are no exceptions.
You will be required to fill out an application at the shelter for the dog you are interested in adopting.
If for some reason the adoption does not work, you are required to return the dog to our shelter. We will always take the dog back under any circumstance.
Bringing a new pet into your life is a big responsibility and a lifetime commitment, you will need to cover the expenses of food, toys/treats, vet bills etc. Please plan ahead of time before adopting an animal. They are not meant to be kept for a few years and then gotten rid of once they are older. They are a member of the family.
Some things to consider before bringing a new dog into your life:
*Have the essentials on hand including food and water bowls, safe chew toys, grooming tools, a collar and leash, an identification tag and a crate with bedding (towels will do if you don’t want to spend money on a fancy crate pad).
*If you already have a dog in your home, you will want to let your dog meet your potential new pet in a neutral place. Never just bring the new animal straight into your home as they may upset your current dog. This could lead to aggression and territorial aggression. If the dogs are meeting in a place that they do not own they will be a lot less likely to show aggression. If you can please bring your current dog with you to the shelter to see if they get along before commiting to adoption.
*Who will walk the dog at various times of times of day? Who will feed the dog, and at what times? Who will take the dog to the vet? Be sure to divy up the responsibilities between family members so everyone can take part in raising your new family member. And if it’s you who winds up walking her in the middle of a rainy night, slap on a smile and remember—pet parenting is a privilege, not a chore!
*Dogs can get confused when one human says “down” and another says “off” when, for example, they jump on visitors. Then there’s “down” versus “lie down,” and “paw” versus “shake”—surely you see how this is perplexing to another species! Do the dog a favor and select the terms that you plan to associate with various commands.
*If you don’t already have one, find a good veterinarian—and bring your new canine to a caring veterinarian for a wellness exam within one week after adoption. Make this appointment even before you bring home your new pup.

Adoptions of PitBulls, Pitbull mixes, American Bulldogs, & American Staffordshire Terriers require home visits before and after adoption. A fenced yard is also necessary. There are no exceptions.
We only let these dogs go to wonderful loving homes where they will be treated as a member of the family.
NUGGET
Nugget is a special dog looking for a special home. He is an 8 year old male Chocolate Lab, and yes he only has one eye. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who could not care for him anymore financially or physically. His owner had him since he was a puppy, and said he lost his eye at a very young age after he ran into something. Despite his age, Nugget is a very active and playful boy looking for a home with older respectful children. He gets along well with other dogs. He is neutered and up to date on shots, and just looking for that special home that will give him lots of love that he has been missing!
SOX
Sox is a young female black lab mix. Found as a stray Sox is under a year and a total love. She is a smart girl who knows how to sit and shake. If not spayed already, she will be prior to adoption.
JOABOA
Joaboa (pronounced Jo-Bo) is a 3 year old (born 6/28/07) Border Collie/Terrier mix. He was recently surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. As with any dog, please do your research on the breed before commiting to an adoption! Joaboa is a nice dog who walks well on a leash, and is a very loyal companion. Remember Terriers are protective of their owners! He would excell in a home with no children or other dogs. An apartment would not be suitable for Joaboa either. Do you own a farm? Joaboa would make a great addition with his hearding instincts! He would also likely make a great agility dog!

ANGEL & CAPONE
Angel is on the left, and Capone is on the right.
Angel is a 12 year old female Terrier mix. She was surrendered to the shelter with her doggie companion Capone who is a 6 year old Chihuahua. Angel and Capone have lived together for the last 6 years and would like to stay together if possible. They get along well with other animals, like car rides, are housebroken & crate trained and would need a home with older respectful children due to their tiny size. Angel knows the commands sit, stay, come and shake!
They were surrendered to the shelter because their owners were moving and could not take them along.
Both dogs are spayed/neutered and up to date on shots.

BETTY DAVIS
Betty also goes by "Better Days" because that is what is ahead of her from now on. She was found as a stray in Seneca Falls and was found very weak and thin. She was suffering from mastitis likely due to being overbred. She is now happy to have been rescued and is gaining weight. She requires a home visit before adoption due to her breed and also needs a home where she is the only pet. Children are recommended to be over 10. She will be spayed prior to adoption.
